Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

The legendary Mercedes supercar range as we know it started in 1954 with the 300 SL 'Gullwing' production car.
Nowadays the 'Gullwing' is an important piece of history for the brand and it is the inspiration for many sports- and supercars till today. The best example we can name is the SLS AMG, but also the AMG GT, GTS and GTR, the SL-series and of course the SLR McLaren all have influences from the 300 SL, hence the letters 'SL' on most of these examples. The SLS AMG is the only one with the famous 'Gullwing'  doors.

Both cars share a performance-first philosophy, with the 300SL being one of the first true performance cars of the post-war era. The SLS AMG aimed to recapture the spirit of the original 300 SL. While the 300SL was known for its advanced engineering for the time (such as its fuel injection system and lightweight construction), the SLS AMG features modern technologies, including Mercedes-Benz's famous 6.2 litre V8 engine and AMG-designed advanced suspension.

The SLS AMG has been attracting attention from collectors and enthusiasts. While it may not command the astronomical prices of the 300 SL just yet, its value has been steadily increasing, and it could see more significant appreciation in the future.
